Okay so this is my second time writing this post because the first time, my computer restarted and I didn’t get to save the draft. It said it does automatic saves but I couldn’t find the draft anywhere. 😦
Coconut oil is packed with nutrients and antioxidants, has healing agents, is moisturizing, protects from the sun, is antibacterial/anti-fungal, and is good for stress relief! I use coconut oil as a moisturizer/sunscreen, lip balm, pre-wash for my hair, deodorant, and sometimes as an after styling serum. You can use just plain coconut oil for all these, like I do, or use the recipes below. Seriously though, coconut oil is AMAZING my favorite use for it would as a moisturizer!
- 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
- 6 liquid vitamin E capsules
Put the coconut oil in a small bowl, poke holes in the vitamin E capsules, and drain into the oil. Just mix and use!
- 1/4 cup melted virgin coconut oil
- 8 drops jojoba oil
- 8 drops lavender oil
Mix all ingredients and apply to slightly wet hair from roots to tips. Heat up your hair a little with a hairdryer and cover with a shower cap for at least one hour before you wash.
- 1/2 cup virgin or naturally refined coconut oil
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup arrowroot powder or cornstarch
- 5-10 drops of either tea tree, jasmine, sandalwood, or any other oil you like
Combine ingredients either with hand or handheld emulsion mixer and apply using a small amount on the tips of your fingers.
4. After Styling Serum
- 1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
- 6 drops pineapple oil
Mix the coconut oil and pineapple oil together in a squeeze bottle (you don’t have to use a squeeze bottle, but it’s the most convenient) and shake. Put 2-3 drops on your hands and run then through your hair. WARNING: Do not put more than 2-3 drops or else your hair will look greasy, put even less for shorter hair.
